Thanks to wikipedia for this one. As you can see the peninsula is located in between the Sulu Sea and the Moro Gulf. Zamboanga del Sur is in there as well. It literally means “Southern Zamboanga”… At least that’s what I think.

Oh and if by any chance you want to get to Dipolog City from Zamboanga City, here is a map that might help you out.

Oh and by the way, Byron Zamboanga is actually an assistant professor and has nothing to do with the city. I don’t even think he is living anywhere near the Philippines. I also noticed people googling the word “zamboanga com” for some reason. I assume they actually meant zamboanga.com but I could be wrong.

There is a festival called Zamboanga Hermosa Festival, or as the locals like to call it, Fiesta Pillar. It happens every october of the year. I have a theory as to why they call it so. Apparently there is a place called Fort Pillar here in which a lot, and I do mean alot, of people go to for nine days. I don’t even want to go near this area during this period. I extremely dislike traffic and big crowds.  Other people said that the festival is to celebrate Lady of the Pilar Nuestra Señora del Pilar de Zaragosa. Honestly I have no idea who that is. But it doesn’t matter, this post is not about her. Oh and this festival runs from October 1 to 12. I think I mentioned nine days somewhere above but I’m too lazy to check.

Last useless info about this city. The universities here are the Ateneo de Zamboanga University, also known as ADZU. The Western Mindanao State University, WMSU. Universidad de Zamboanga, UdeZ. Two most widely read newspapers by the locals are the Zamboanga Times and Zamboanga Today. Okay so you were expecting every useless details. But it is 4:32 am in the moring. I’m sleepy and tired. I am actually amazed you read all the way down here. Give yourself a pat on the back and I will go to sleep.
